[ about ]

Born in Paddington (Sydney, Australia) in 1974, I grew up with the beach and have a love of being surrounded by nature but the excitement of city living with all its man-made environments equally fascinates me . Through my design, I try to reconcile these two conflicting lifestyles and create an artificial / organic, engaging body of work with an aesthetic harmony between the natural and man made worlds.

Operating from my Bondi Beach studio/office and self taught in design, I draw on my eclectic background and put all my energies into my creations. Past professional lives range from graphic design, electronic music, sculpting, film / TV camera and lighting work.

After working in so many “fake” interior environments from TV soap studio sets and psychedelic kids shows, to in-your-face music TV programs, I became interested with the notion of being able to merge the fantasy with reality. I like the idea of having control over your own space and being able to express yourself. I feel your surroundings should be an extension of your identity.

My design work ranges from one-off, site specific commissions to the large run, production and distribution of modern, versatile interior products for domestic or commercial environments. Working primarily from self-initiated briefs, I try to create objects that draw out a positive emotional response from the user.
